Help the Gowanus Canal Conservancy grow native plants at its canal-side nursery by potting seedlings, labeling and weeding, usually finishing with a walk through the gardens. Thursday shifts run 1–4pm, with some alternating Saturdays 10am–1pm; first-timers must attend an orientation first. Take the F, G or R to 4 Av–9 St.
