A beginners' course folding, sewing and assembling the classic softcover structures, from pamphlets and accordions to Japanese stab binding and multi-signature books. At the Center for Book Arts, 28 W 27th St, third floor; R or W to 28 St. $550 for five Monday evenings, 16 November to 14 December, 6 to 9pm, with registration closing 2 November. This is the second run this season; the September section is already under way.
