A one-day intensive in batik: drawing a design onto cloth in hot wax with a tjanting tool, dyeing, and boiling the wax out to reveal the resist pattern. At the Textile Arts Center, 505 Carroll St in Gowanus, near Union St (R). Saturday November 7, 2026, 11am to 5pm; TAC prices its full-day intensives between $225 and $450, with the exact fee on the booking page. Thirteen of the 18 textile and fiber classes on our calendar are in Brownstone Brooklyn, nearly all of them at TAC.
