A beginner evening learning eight hand-embroidery stitches, knots and edgings, all worked onto a sampler you take home; materials included and no experience needed. At the Brainery, 190 Underhill Ave, Prospect Heights, near Grand Army Plaza (2, 3). $40, Friday 9 October, 7–9pm. Embroidery is otherwise absent from our New York calendar — this and the Brainery's two 24 October stitching classes are the only ones we list.
