Shift Happens: Nyc Debut at Urbanworld Film Festival

About

Buckle up. Shift Happens makes its NYC debut at the 30th anniversary Urbanworld Film Festival, the Oscar-qualifying festival celebrating BIPOC storytellers. Set inside a multicultural driving school, this comedy with real heart follows instructors and students from every walk of life as they navigate immigration struggles, a cross-town rival school, anxiety behind the wheel, and everything else life throws at them on the road to getting licensed. The story comes straight from real life. Arthur and Fatimah Muhammad, a Dallas-Fort Worth husband and wife team, own and run Sweet Chariot Driving School, and they turned the characters, chaos, and connection they see every day into a film. Shift Happens stars Nikki Dixon (Hypnotic) alongside Kamron Alexander (Snowfall) and Taryn Manning (Orange Is the New Black, 8 Mile). The film is written and directed by Arthur Muhammad and executive produced by Fatimah Muhammad and produced by Tricia Woodgett. Come for the laughs, stay for the moments that hit home.
