About

This workshop introduces attendees to the importance of seed collection for the conservation and propagation of native plant species in NYC. Led by staff from the NYC Parks Plant Ecology Center and Nursery, participants will learn about the importance of plant habitat to local ecosystems and how seed-based restoration promotes biodiversity. They will participate in a seed-collection walk through northern Central Park and learn about the common native plants of New York City. All materials will be provided, though attendees should be prepared to walk off-trail in Central Park, where there may be ticks and poison ivy. Bug spray, drinking water, and long pants are recommended.Register HereNYC Parks GreenThumb hosts this event.
