Bike Tour: Fossil Fuel History of Newtown Creek

About

A guided five-mile ride through the creek's oil story, from the kerosene refinery of 1854 to today's spill cleanup and the National Grid LNG site; bring your own bike in good order and a helmet. Starts at Manhattan Avenue Street End Park, 1200 Manhattan Ave in Greenpoint, a walk north from Greenpoint Av (G). Sunday 4 October, 10am–noon; Newtown Creek Alliance doesn't publish a price on this listing, so check its Eventbrite page. It is the first of three Sunday bike tours the Alliance runs this month, the only bike tours on our calendar.
